Description
Now onto a very interesting clan in Vampire: The Masquerade. The Ministry. Talib is was from the embers of the French Revolution, and always wanted to be a soldier like that of Thomas-Alexandre Dumas. After spending most of his life working towards his dream, he would get to serve under his hero during Napoleon's campaign in Egypt! However, he quickly learned that he was never much of a soldier, and get lost in the deserts separated from his allies. In the dunes, he was taken in by a priest, and reborn as a Follower of Set. Unfortunately, while he was gifted in charming allies and tempting actors around the cafes and theatres of Paris, he didn't have much drive to enact any greater plans for the Church. For Talib, he just loved the game, and thrived off the outskirts of art communities that were particularly interested in pushing boundaries. For centuries, he was a great disappointment to the Setites, drifting from the art scenes of Paris, to London, and eventually over to the New World, but now this a new era. In era of The Ministry, Talib sees opportunity. Instead of tempting local socialites to establish territory for a snake-themed cult, he could instead create his own center of the arts to feed off of using the centuries of connections he's made globally. This is his chance to rebrand. Break the chains of fear and self-preservation that hold you back from your dreams, and push the boundaries of what you ever thought you were capable of. And if there's a messy, bloody end to it all, at least you've made a mark on this world.

Took me a while to think how to handle something like the Followers of Set/The Ministry. I thought it'd be all Egyptian-themed Snake Worshippers and couldn't see many routes to take them, but I really tried to focus the idea V5 explains that members of the clan really just want people to break some kind of code or rule they've established for themselves. And me being how I am, I thought of someone who might want to give The Ministry a friendlier look than a clan of Corrupters. Instead of tempting others into crime or substances, Talib wants to break people free from their anxieties that prevent them from fulfilling their full potential, though in all honesty, he doesn't seem to care if their fears were the only thing preventing them from from getting themselves hurt. In the end, his righteous attempts typically end with selfish fun, and a lot of pain.

Visually, I really wanted to play on the hood of a cobra, resulting in his wild hair that kind of gives a silhouette a hooded snake, along with the eyes and more snake-like fangs. Really trying to get a more emotional art style with my digital work, and trying different textures and techniques. Still a work in progress, but I'm really happy with how Talib turned out.
