Why do I chooseTo cut and hurt myself?
Why do I love to feel pain,
The burn of a cut,
And the sharp ends of an object?
Why can't I write what I feel on paper
Instead of my arm?
Why do I feel proud of this?
Why is this out of my control?
Why does society say this is bad
If it feels so good?
Why do I make poetry out of this?
People might stop me.
But who can?
Who will? No one.
Maybe it's better this way
Maybe not.
Maybe I need to be stopped.
But I don't want to.
This is my home. My way out.
