Jay Tavare as Chief Prairie Fire in the TV series 'Into the West'. When I first saw this shot in the opening credits of the second episode, I just knew I had to draw him! His features struck me as really unique somehow...Done with reference material using F, 6H, HB, 2B, 4B and 8B pencils in my sketchbook.

Aboriginal? I would say native American.

That's what I meant. Aboriginal means inhabitants that existed in a land from the earliest times or from before the arrival of colonists...meaning native Americans/Indians in this case. Aboriginal is a universal word used to describe people like native Americans... To put it plainly native Americans are aboriginals.

I've never seen the series, but being part Native American (Indian) myself loved this right off! Great work and your drawing skills are amazing.

I went and checked the WIPs for this but have some time constraints so decided to just comment here for the big win! Hehe! Really nice detail and one stoic expression! Really nice facial structure and the eyes are quite accurately portrayed! An amazingly detailed and fantastic piece of art all the way around! Superb!
