Story concept: Taking place after the good ending of Sonic 2
Eggman decides to start plan B
To clash both the zones from S1 and S2 together
when it happened
a explosion appears
Luckily, Sonic ran away from it when it happends
Sonic saw the unexpected
all of the zones of Sonic 1 and 2 were mixed together
Sonic then starts a new mission: to help both of the islands return in their normal state

I really like this idea of basically combining both the settings and combine zones from both games but I don't see the name "Phantom Clash" with the details that are no details about the Phantom Ruby or any type of phantoms being present (unless It is implied which is my bad and poor speculation).
I would either like a name change to fit the concept (probably a stupid idea.) or at least give some more story context on how eggman combined both islands into one without spoiling everything. This statement is rather opinionated but how would the story effect this new alternative timeline if Eggman does find the ruby if the Phantom Ruby were to be used if Sonic or (maybe but probably) Eggman never gone to Angel Island and the entire events of Sonic 3 and onward?
