Description
Kelsey, Chad, Joel and Dana are still trapped in the Aquabase, along with Captain Mitchell and Miss Fairweather. They're attempting to comfort each other, and Miss Fairweather tells Joel she'd like to accept his offer for a date when they get out.
Joel finds a maintenance shaft, but it's flooded. Chad tries to swim through it.
Meanwhile, Bansheera plants her castle on the stones Jinxer was placing on the surface.
Chad tells the others they can swim through, and they make it to a submarine. Batlings swarm around them, but they blast a hole in a wall flooding the space and washing them away. They successfully escape.
Carter and Ryan are trying to stop Jinxer and Bansheera, they even destroy the Omega Megazord. It's too late, the stones are all placed in sequence. The other Rangers join Carter and Ryan to face Bansheera.
They enter the castle and fight through an army of Batlings. Carter takes on Bansheera and kicks her into a tomb which is the portal to the Shadow World. She uses her tendrils to grab him and drag him down with her. He calls to the Rangers to close the lid, but they won't without him. Just then, a streak of gold light appears before Bansheera, it's Diabolico. He severs her tendrils and laughs as she falls into the swarm of monsters. Carter is pulled out and the lid is closed. After they leave the castle, it begins to disintegrate.
The Rangers hand in their Morphers to Captain Mitchell, now that their mission is over. They discuss going back to their lives, and Joel does indeed have a date with Miss Fairweather. Just as they're about to go their separate ways, a firetruck zooms by, alarms blaring. They look up to see a black billowing cloud of smoke, and jump back into action. "You forgot these! Calls Captain Mitchell, holding up their Morphers.

I love Lightspeed Rescue. The Rangers, the villains, the focus on rescue, it all stands out as so unique from any other season. The finale brilliantly builds tension, and everything is resolved in a satisfying way. Some of my favorite parts of Lightspeed come from this episode, particularly Diabolico's cameo, which is the perfect cap to his arc, and the very end, with the Rangers all going back to action. I like how we hear the Rangers talk about what they'll be doing after, it shows even though the show is over, they're still characters with their own lives, and its interesting to speculate on what they're doing in future seasons while other teams are active.

Lightspeed Rescue remains one of my favorite seasons, after rewatching every episode. There's only a few major disappointments, and even then, not a total loss. I'm very much looking forward to Time Force. That one may be my most favorite season. I'm going to take a break and next year (or slightly before) I'll resume my Rewatch project.
