Illustration of my nightmare from 2016. According to the plot of this dream, I watched a film about a certain woman who collected dolls and revived them with the help of her cursed power, but this revivals was accompanied with different ugly distortions.
I can not visually recall anything from this, I remember only the plot itself.
All I remember is the gray cellar, in which stood an old leather armchair. In this chair sat this creature, sitting without moving, staring at me with a fixed look. On his lap slept a black-and-white cat. The creature looked very scary and menacing, despite its immobility. His brown skin was wrinkled and looked like a coarse wool impregnated with glue. He was dressed in clothes from a rough cloth of dirty blue. I knew for sure that this is one of those dolls of that woman. But here this dream ends.
The name Dexter was given to him in honor of another older dream, in which I found a small rectangular metal keychain with a blue tint. Name Dexter was writen on it and to the left was a relief of a brown pseudoscorpion (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudosc… ). In my dreams I rarely see names or characters with names, and this keychain resembled this creature in color, so I decided that he deserved that name.
A few months later, I had a dream, in which the obsessed cat ran around the kitchen. She crashed into all sorts of obstacles, as if she did not control her actions and screamed in a human voice. And in the dream itself, I thought about the fact that Dexter probably possessed this cat. This was the first time when in a dream I remembered another character from a dream. Given this fact, as well as the fact that nightmares with cats and live dolls I saw very often, Dexter became for me a special figure and one of the most beloved characters from my dreams. Also Dexter resembles gremlin a lot. Nightmares with gremlins often tormented me as a child because of the old NES game "Gremlins 2".
