Description
Another "Big Cat" however this will be the last for a while as I feel the need for a different direction and subject matter ....I hope you like this latest offering it was fun for me but the paper let me down as it seemed to have a grain pattern on its surface not visible to the naked eye but obvious when it came to the blending ...
All graphite on A3 smooth Bristol Board
Pencil Grades 4H - 4B
Best regards

Great drawing! The fur looks incredibly real, your shading is really good.
The only thing that would bring the drawing even further might be a background, but it would have to be simple so as not to overwhelm the clouded leopard.
How long did this take you to do?

Thanks for your kind words ... not buying the background as on previous projects it can send the piece backwards and I wanted the piece to pop on the page ...
In total the drawing took around 18hrs but I did struggle with the paper as mentioned ...

You're welcome. Yes, I can see what you mean and your big cats are impressive enough without backgrounds.
Ah, okay. I hope you find better paper! Doesn't it say on the paper what kind of grain it has?

Thanks ... the paper grain was /is a fault in the paper it manifested in parallel lines in areas?? you may be misunderstanding the grain with the tooth of the paper?? On looking on the internet this problem can occur when the paper is made mainly during the rolling process normally at the start or end of the run something to do with the tension ???
Anyway thank you for your kind comments ..

Ah I can see what you mean now that you point it out. It isn't very easily visible on the photo. And you're right, I meant the tooth, sorry about that. English is not my mother tongue but I should've known that. Does all of your paper have that problem or is it just that one sheet? Maybe you could ask for a refund if it's on all of it. But I guess you only notice it when blending.
