Description
This is the painting I did for the HeroesCon auction last weekend and is now going to be a San Diego ComicCon exclusive print. Available in Green, Red(Dark Phoenix), and a variant white version(White version will be full image, this is just a teaser). If you'd like one please come by my booth at #4403 and inquire. White variant only available when purchasing both the red and green Phoenix and is limited to only 50 prints.ARTBOOKS!
On another note, I am still taking pre-orders for my new Art of Marvel artbook: bookplate edition so send an e-mail to markbrooksart@msn.com with the subject line 'Groundworks" and we will get back to you with ordering instructions. See my latest jounral entry for more details: [link]
Sorry about the obnoxious watermark over the image. There's been a rash of my work being used or sold without my permission and I need to protect this image for those that purchase the prints.
Done in acrylic wash, ink, and prismacolor pencil with some photoshop enhancements.
Hope you dig!

It also means San Diego Comic Con and I bet it you survey 100 people, at least 70 would would mention the con.
Just saying.

Well I can ask 100 people around here and none of them would ever have heard about a San Diego Comic Con. I don't even know where San Diego is. Probably somewhere on the NA continent. That's the pain of using abbreviations in an international community. They don't work.

You don't even know where San Diego is? I think you might have even bigger problems than knowing what an abbreviation stands for. And yeah, you'd be right when it comes to an international community but this is an art sight that heavily leans towards comics, manga, anime, and animation so I think most people here know what the San Diego Comic Con is as well as where it's located.

Actually, it's not a problem at all. Knowing where San Diego is is not worth the 30 seconds it would take me to find out.

They look amazing, I want that hair, it's beautiful! The uniforms in the red and green are gorgeous but the white is simply outstanding. These will sell out in a heartbeat.

As always awesome work!! I am an inspiring artist in Atlanta who is a very big fan of your work. its crazy that you say that about the watermark because i saw your work poorly canvas printed and for sale at the mall of georgia. The art looked pixelated and very poorly wrapped. I suspected theft.

Thanks so much for the info! IF possible, can you tell me the location and possibly the name of the place that was selling them? They were pixalated because they were probably taken off deviantart and blown up larger. Since the resolution on here isn't great, they can't get a hi-res quality image. any help you could provide would be great-thanks!

It's called "Cargill Gallery" I've been in there. They print out copies of artist drawings then paint directly on the drawing. Most people walking by think its original stuff they have created. They have a web site of the same name and are in the Mall of Ga.
www.cargillgallery.com.......By the way..I saw you paint this and it blows me away every time I see it.

I can't remember the name of the place but it was on the second floor right across from the "official VANs store". The store sells mostly amaturesque paintings(no offense). Wait! I think its called "Cargill Gallery." Im a fan of your work. Thats why I was surprised to see your work there...and if i remember correctly, who ever printed your work was kind enough to crop/remove your signature.

Thanks so much to both you guys! Got his number and gave him a call. After a nice 15 minute conversation regarding lawyers and such he's agreed to take everything down and stop copying other artist's work from here on out. I told him I lived here in Atlanta and frequent the Mall of Georgia along with some very good comic fans like yourself so I think he's going to be stopping from here on out. Chalk one up for you guys. I'm gonna start calling you Crocket and Tubbs!

I like the cream coloured costume best, nice contrast with the purple and orange.
