I've been working on this piece on and off for the last couple days. I always loved the posters for Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and wanted to try out a vector version of it.
There's lots to be added to the image yet, but I thought I'd put it up here to get some feedback.
Please excuse the strange quality. There are so many gradients, and and such that a high quality .png is close to 300k, which is hardly necessary for an in progress preview.

and all that), the hair ends feel a little rushed. like when you fool around the shapes
to much and get all twisted, maybe it's what you intended.

I would have sworn this was a completed work. That hair is crazy-cool.
I'm not sure what you're planning on filling out next, but personally I think this looks better without a body. It gives it a centered look, and the shaping of the hair does a good job giving a "body" enough without distracting from the face and that exploding star hair.

I especially like the shapes at the ends of her hair.
Her face is near perfect as well. The only thing I can see a little improvement in, in my opinion, is the indented curve on her outter cheek could be made a little more gentle...unless you were going for a big chin look...

For some reason it looks like she's like 0.3 seconds after a slap, her head moving away and a redness forming on her cheek, only thing missing is some saliva splatting out from her mouth. Of course this was probably not what you thought of, but I'm not quite normal
I like the way you used very subtle gradients in the shapes too, gives it a bit more life *nod*
