i did some sketches the last 2 days.to get some pratice and to get my motivation back.
the trees are ok, i think, but unfortunately they don't look like any really trees. but because i'm drawing fantasy most of the time, it doesn't really matter
what do you think of shadings and textures?
i know, trees aren't the easiest way to pratice shadows, but fun goes about the rest for me while drawing.

Mais esch kann och net einfach ophaalen Saachen ranzestellen. Wann esch iejendwann wieklesch professionell als Artist schafen well dann muss esch dLeid souwisou freier oder speider konfronteiren. Dann ass et besser esch maan daat direkt, dann hun esch weinstens herno dGewunescht

Damn they're pretty *_* I couldn't draw a tree to save my life xD
And the shading looks suprisingly realistic. Just be sure to add different shades of shadows - that way you can get it to look even more 3D

well, besides the 2 pics i did months ago, this is my first picture of trees. and the other 2 were more cellshading style.
the shadows are quite random. i don't really know, where to put them. i know there's light on one side and shadows on the other but beside that...

i'll practice some more to get a more realistic look ^^

Shadows can be tricky, but don't let them get the best of you!
You just need to practise and bravely try - add the shadows where you think they'd be or look good and if they don't look like you want them to look, just erase them and try again

just today i tried to get a more realistic look for the tree trunk, in shadings and texturing. i think i did rather good.
but, i wonder if it could help me at all to draw trees... i mean, i started a 100 themes list months ago, but until now i drew just 1 picture! so i should practice drawing clothes, human beings and such, not trees.
but on the other hand, maybe it's just not my destiny to draw people, but to draw trees

I think that everything helps. The important thing is to draw and practise. If you know how to do one thing, you can learn easier to do another thing. So if you feel like drawing tress, draw them until you're sick of them!
And don't stress about the 100 themes list. I mean, it doesn't have to be done inside a time limit? If you stress about it, you won't get anything done. At least when I'm stressed out about drawing, it only makes things worse, and before I know it I won't be able to draw a thing x)
Just relax, think about things, draw and shade trees and do the 100 themes list when you have the inspiration. After all, isn't drawing supposed to be fun?
