Comet is the son of Fluttershy

Him and his sister Titania are bat ponies.
Comet’s lifelong dream is become a Wonderbolt. Sadly, there’s still some prejudice against bat ponies because they’re believed to have followed Nightmare Moon. So Comet has a hard time at the Wonderbolt academy because of this.

Comet’s life-long rival is Flare Flash. Just because their moms were/are lifelong friends, doesn’t mean they are.

Comet was an ill tempered colt, but Fluttershy really tries to work with her son. They meditate and write in their journals and practice yoga with Titania. Comet manages his temper with age and it takes quite a bit to set him off.
