Description

Ported to OBJ from the old but still wonderful and fully textured SketchUp model by Katase.  Preview picture posed in XNALara XPS.  You could still download Katase's original from Google's 3D Warehouse last time I checked, although you'll have port it yourself (WARNING - has a large number of double-faced surfaces).  Here's the link:

Here's a couple of Alien movie clips courtesy of YouTube that have the best footage of the Nostromo as seen in the movie.

And there's this Alien fanfilm too, edited together from both clips from the move and the two the Alien:Isolation video game DLC packs:

Doesn't look like much, does it?  After all, it's the spacegoing equivalent of an oversized multi-deck ocean tug, used to tow a massive refinery across the interstellar void in the movie ... and yet it becomes a ship full of stark terror once the events of the 1979 all-time sci-fi horror classic Alien begin to unfold.  That movie forever immortalized the humble space tug USCSS Nostromo in the minds of millions of Aliens/Predator franchise fans worldwide.  It's been recreated in CG form by multiple individuals, with some costing you a pretty penny on payware sites and ones like this absolutely free.  Best of all, Katase's is one of the better free ones.  Yes, it's a bitch to port, yes it has backfacing issues and flipped normals along with them, but boy is it a beauty once you get it done, as you can see above.  I won't claim that it's 100% accurate - you'd have to check with Katase on that - but I know it's more than good enough to do me just fine if I ever need it for anything ... and best of all it's absolutely free.  No interiors, as in the video games (AWWWWW!!!) but there are some basic fan-created ones out there you can go get and soup up on your end if you have the time and talent, and of course those who can rip will ... one of these days ... maybe.  XD

Please be sure to credit Katase for his hard work if you download (and port) and use this for anything on your end, okay?  Thanks!
