... although it came without any textures, and best of all I didn't have to pay some money-grubbing fellow naval fan for it. Where there's a will there's a way, and all that, although it took long enough! (laugh) BTW I've been having lots of fun finding textures that will work with it and painting them back on. I already had WoW's Puerto Rico, which is an Alaska offshoot, so that gave me textures for almost all of the detail bits, although I still lacked proper hull and superstructure textures when I made this WIP images. Fortunately I've amassed quite a large library of CG warship model textures, so I found some that would work for the image. Oh, and since I took this image I've gotten the full set of Alaska textures in her proper wartime camo scheme, courtesy of a very talented WoW fan. All I have to do now is paint them on. Oh, joy ....
As all of you know, Alaska is my second most favorite USN capital ship class of World War II. South Dakota is the first, but I already had the WoW model for that one. Now I've got Alaska to keep it company.
