Description

As promised, and now that the third and final Autumn Spring novelization has been accepted for publication, I'm going to start re-upping some of my old Resident Evil web comics.

NEXT -->

The short-lived Nemy Loves Jill series was inspired largely by the insanity of the Resident Evil web comics of fellow dA artist ChrisTaylus.  It made its debut on August of 2016 with "My Darling Valentine" and was an instant hit with both franchise fans and the public in general.  I pulled it a few years later when I pretty much left all things Resident Evil behind in order to pursue my own personal efforts.  I've had a number of people ask me about it since, so I'm bringing back hopefully to their delight and for the enjoyment of all of folks who missed it the first time around.

The premise of Nemy Loves Jill is very simple:  WHAT IF ... you took the basic plot of Resident Evil 3 and turned it into a Pepe Le Pew cartoon (Warner Bros. Looney Tunes), with Nemesis madly in love with poor Jill and she doing everything in her power to get away from him, just like Pepe and Penelope in those cartoons, but it is the horrific appearance of Nemesis - or "Nemy" as we Nemy Loves Jill fans call him (name borrowed from ChrisTaylus) - that drives Jill away instead of his body odor.

The title for this one is a play on the title of the classic Pepe Le Pew short "Louver Come Back To Me," and I also borrow the idea of a role switch from some of the other shorts, save that in this story's case I switch unfortunate women and have franchise fan fave Clare Redfield (yes!) become the unwanted object of Nemy's affections.  How that happens is half the fun of the story.

The final product ended up being only one third as long as I had originally planned.  There was a long chase scene involving classic Looney Tunes elements from both the Pepe Le Pew and the Road Runner cartoons that I cut, which I planned to revamp and scale back for the third and ultimately never produced Nemy Loves Jill short.  Nemy would have eventually caught Clare at the end of it in the original draft version of "Louver," and there would have been a "Wild Turkey Surprise" kind of scene where Clarie figures out how to turn the tables and get Nemy back to his senses and chasing after the right girl, that being Jill of course.  More on that when the time comes.  This also started out somewhat differently in the original draft, with Jill having escaped from Nemy while being trussed up (having already tried several unsuccessful escapes) and essentially playing as Nemy's escaped bondage bunny with Claire for the first 4-5 pages or so before finally getting away ... or so she thinks.  I toned this back considerably and removed that particular element, reverting to the broken leg chain instead (a reference to the end of the first short) on the good advice of a couple of friends to whom I showed what I had done of the early version up to that point, and more or less started over -- although I saved that particular model of Jill and it still gets used at the end of the final version, where ... oh, why spoil the surprise for those of you who haven't seen this before? (grin)  The older draft was also more drawn out in how the story developed, me quickening the pace for the final version, and I may once again post the last two and most tame pages from the initial draft once I get the final version reposted in full.

I'll talk more about what I had planned for the original version of "Jilly Come Back To Me" once I'm done with reposting.

Oh, and if you don't mind taking a little detour to one side to see how this scene played in my original draft ...
