DESCRIPTION

The Sleuths are taking a well-earned, all-expenses-paid, week-long vacation to Japan, courtesy of a friend of a friend of theirs that they made while working the Emily Roth case (see "The Tale of the Torch Singer.").  This trip is for pure pleasure, with no Agency business of any kind to worry about; however, that doesn't mean that it's going to be dull.  Jill gets an unexpected reunion with her former RPD STARS partner and Claire's brother Chris Redfield, who happens to be visiting Japan at the same time on official BSAA business.  At the same time, the other three young ladies get to have their own fun at a recreated hot spring attached to the resort complex where they're staying.  Finally, Sleuths team supervisor Mickey Sullivan, who has also come along for the trip, gets to revisit both the joy and the pain from his younger days when he was representing the Agency in Japan many years ago.  It's an atypical Sleuths episode to be sure, but there was never anything typical about the Sleuths to begin with -- right?  XD

Guest starring Resident Evil's Chris Redfield playing himself and Yakuza series recurring characters Chika Arimura and Junichi Sudo reprising their prior Sleuths roles as former geisha Ling-Ling and her former danna and long time yakuza member Mr. Sudo.  Also featuring Yakuza series cast members Reina Yamaguchi and Yayoi Dojima in supporting roles, as well as some of the best songs from the Kimagure Orange Road anime franchise soundtrack, and with a special appearance by the monkey from Dead or Alive 5 (DOA5) to top everything off.

TRIVIA - The title of this particular Sleuths episode has a double meaning.  It not only refers to the hot springs at the resort where the Sleuths will be staying, but is also a good-natured general jab at all of those anime and manga stories that are either built around a hot spring (Love Hina, et al) or have at least one episode or installment set at a hot spring ... if not more -- and there are SO MANY of them! (laugh).  That's why this is the "inevitable" hot springs episode.
