Nautilus is the name of the submarine built and operated by the mysterious Captain Nemo in the vintage classic science fiction novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. His novel has been adapted for screen many times since the technology was first invented; however, the version of the Nautlius that was created for the Walt Disney feature film adaptation in 1954 remains for many the classic take on this classic sci-fi submarine. It was designed by Harper Golf and was almost nothing like what Verne described in his novel, which was more like a traditional submarine. Golf wanted the Disney Nautilus to have a more menacing look and came up with a design that incorporated elements of both a shark and alligator, two of the most terrifying aquatic creatures in nature. The original set props and models were destroyed once filming on the movie was finished; however, Disney's Nautilus has been recreated many times, in many sizes up to full scale, and in many media since the movie was first released. It may be "just" a submarine, but Disney's Nautilus has also rightfully earned its place as one of the classic craft of science fiction, and its impact on both that genre and the world at large continues to this day. This is a straight port with no changes by me. It's a wonderful little low poly model that is easy to use in practically whatever 3D software you care to name, although it's fairly simple and lacks a lot of the finer details as seen in the movie. All of the essential ones are there save for the side galleries, and it's rights-free to boot, so there you go. It does not include the rudder or propeller of the original because those are not required for the Flight Simulator series, which treats all ships as scenery unless otherwise programmed and water surfaces as solid. If you need a propeller and rudder then you will either have to fab them yourself or nab them off of someone else's 3D Nautilus model.
This is not my model. All I did was port it to OBJ for you. Please credit MFeilden as the original creator if you use this in any of your own 3D projects. You do not have to credit me for my part.
For non-profit, non-commercial use only.
ASIDE - You also might want to look at these two higher poly SketchUp efforts, although you'll have to port them yourself.

NOTE - You can use this with the low poly USN screw frigate I have elsewhere in my gallery to recreate the battle scene between the Nautilus and the USN screw frigate Abraham Lincoln as depicted in the original story. The original release for CFS2 came with a mission file for doing just that! (grin-and-wink)
