There's a cut bit between this page and the previous one in my draft. In that Reina gets up and says she'll take care of Kerry and asks the other two to go on visiting until she gets done and can get back to them. Brandy then asks Kimmy about her husband Ted, and that's when the scene changes. This was cut to save pages and panels, but I'll probably put it back for any novelization.

The reason why the older Kerry Ingram looks the way she does will be explained a little later in the story.

Kerry's current cameraman is being played by Citizen Nick from the Resident Evil Outbreak series. You'll meet her old one later in the flashback scenes. What Reina did to Kerry was to lower the overnight security shutters over the front door and windows. You can't see them going down over the windows due to the limits of my set and the camera angle I had to use, but they went down the same time she lowered the one on the front door. Common switch for all of them, very convenient and all that. Closing the shutters effectively seals off the entire front of Reina's bar. Security shutters aren't just for zombie apocalypse video games, you know. A lot of businesses have these or something like them to help prevent break-ins overnight or any other time nobody's there.

And the moral of this scene is ... don't irritate Reina Flannigan. XD
