Description The one that literally got away, this illustration was drawn to back up a suggestion I made to the writer of my most recent labour.

The idea behind it was to slightly deviate from the text and give a new dimension to the mentioned lion. The writer liked it, but other aspects of the story would have to change, so this remained a suggestion. Oh well, can't win them all

More of the illustrations that actually made it to the book in the weeks to come.

Enjoy!

Oh she wanted to, but then the story would have two climax points instead of one and there was no apparent reason for that; after all this is a children's book story and not an adventure film. Thanks for the encouragement though

Thanks Rachel! The bird is also another of my 'suggestions' and although he's never mentioned in the text he's there throughout the story, acting as the main character's sidekick/alter ego. Glad you like it!
