"One Flower Cleansed by the Spring Breeze, Cure Zephyr!"
春風による清め一輪の花、キュアゼファー！
Harukaze ni Yoru Kiyome Ichirin no Hana, Kyua Zefā!

This is a design I came up with this week. This girl may look familiar to you, and for a good reason: it's my version of what Heartcatch's Dark Pretty Cure would look like if she was a genuine Cure/purified/brought back to life.

Something that bothers greatly about many fanarts of benevolent Dark Cure (whether in a purified Cure form or just as a human) I’ve seen is that all of them tend to keep her hair the same as in her canon design. I personally think that while that stiff and straight bob goes well with her being an evil Cure, it would be just jarring if she was benevolent, and it wouldn’t fit in with the other Heartcatch Cures and their wavy, silky, fluttery hairdos, especially her own sister, whose hair is a prominent part of her design. So I decided to make her hair wavier and slightly longer (but not to Sunshine's ridiculous length), and tweaked her bangs a bit to make them similar to Moonlight's.

As we all know, all the Heartcatch Cures have elemental powers, and even though I'm perfectly aware the Dark Cure already has the power of darkness, I changed it to wind as Zephyr because of the whole "darkness is evil" thing the Pretty Cure franchise's been built around since the very beginning. Also, it wouldn't be the first time we've had a duo of Cures with powers based off moon and wind (can you say Cure Bright and Cure Windy?).

I imagine that in civillian form she would adopt the name of Tsukikage Kei (月影けい), with "Kei" (荊) meaning thorn/briar -- it would also be a reference to the Lovely Angels, Kei and Yuri, from Dirty Pair, who the original Pretty Cures are constantly compared to.
