Description
For my sixth Senior Year Art Project, I decided to do make a collage of avian dinosaurs and primitive birds. My peers were a little unconvinced that birds are related to dinosaurs, and so I chose some of the most unusual of prehistoric creatures covered in feathers. On the bottom right, a trio of Deinonychus feed on a young centrosaurus, scuffling too much over the food to care about the five Troodons intruding; one of the Troodons lifts its head to observe a curious Giant Alaskan Troodon. Hovering straight above the kill, a female Iberomesornis flies and looks down on all. On the redwood tree to the left, an Epidexipteryx looks above to find an Archaeopteryx staring at it. Further up the tree, a four-winged gliding Microraptor dodges an ambush from Sinornithosaurus, another gliding raptor. At the very top of the tree, an adult and baby Hoatzin look around at their alien-looking ancestral cousins. On the grasslands across the creek, a pair of Phorusrhacos, three meter tall Terror Birds, watch over their cousin, the Seriema, being stalked by a Guanlong, the crested grandfather of T-rex, who crosses the creek. On the side of the creek with a barren desert, a Velociraptor observes its cousins fighting over the centrosaurus carcass, while its companion follows the Guanlong, Nearby, a pair of Gigantoraptor protect their nest from all of their dangerous relatives. The duller female stands above the nest, while her colorful mate goes to squawk at everybody.
