Description
School is now over and I have time to actually open up Photoshop and start creating worlds again. The idea for a calendar has been present for a while, but school projects kept me from working on one.
So yesterday I opened up Photoshop, opened my planet files with all the layers and started modifying. Wow. After months of not doing that, it reminded me how much I liked it.
I want a 2004 calendar in my room, so I made it basically with my room configuration in mind. Obviously, if you like it, you are more than welcome to buy it
Technical specifications:
Original size: 7500x11250, at about 500 Megs PSD.
Those of you who are familiar with my work, you will notice that some of the months are parts from other works (like May and August, for instance).
This was certainly a lot of fun to put together, and I hope you enjoy it.

The original is about 2500 pixels wide (the original was also flipped 90 degrees), and at full size one was already able to see some of the blurriness.
The main problem is that the whole thing is a photo manipulation of pictures of clouds, taken with a 2 megapixel camera. I used some airbrushing here and there but the whole thing is pretty much cloud pictures overlaid with different settings.
Airbrushing isnt one of my strong points, but i could give it a try at perking it up at higher resolution, although i cant guarantee anything since i've got other projects going on which need to be done, but im sure i could find some time to work on it. A collaboration sounds like a really good idea and ill be certainly looking forward to that.

sure... whenever you've got time. God knows I don't ever have time (thanks to design classes). I really think that your nebula would form an excellent basis for a larger piece. Many of my images started small and then were enlarged and "re-detailed"... ie: Phoenix Nebula and Riven. Just a thought.
Possibly later... I don't plan on having any drawing time until summer anyway.

tell me about it, design classes always take up time for me as well
but id rather stay up till 3 am working on a drawing than staying up till 3 am studying for a test on god know what

sorry for my late comments, i just happened to stumble accross this on a random deviantion spree. This has got to be the most amazing calendar i have ever seen. The fonts used, the colour, planets, everything just screams out awesome. All i need to do now is steal a credit card

A thought.
Here in Sweden, and probably in many more countries, we begin our calendar week with monday. My guess is you'd sell more copies of your print (at least you'd have the potential of doing that) if you changed this and made the new version available as well.
From someone who really liked the calendar!

I know you already have a thousand comments on this, and mine won't make much of a difference, but I just had to say this is a visually stunning piece of work. Everything about it if fantastic, and I am desparately trying to find some friend with a credit card who will let me buy a print of this because it deserves to be hanging on my wall.
I simply love every last part.
I also want to say thank you for the planet tutorial. I have followed it to the last letter, and I just have to say that it works so well, I've actually got something that resembles a planet! Are you planning to do a tutorial on the stars or the sun shine that creeps over the edge of the planets? Or should that be pretty straight forward to work out?

Congratulations on the Spotlight. Well deserved. This is a great piece of work. The earth images are particularly realistic and I love the ring detail in the April image.

I would love a print of this just for the planet that goes with April. I really love the panel. The combination of that perfect shade of green and the ring around the planet owns me. I just totally adore the textures there.
It's really neat. I don't really know what to say past that.
The calendar is surprisingly cheap, I'll have to buy one.
