"I have a niece and a nephew?" Florimel felt a smile even as she looked over at Dipper, the fidgety, tousle-haired girl in the blue vest and red t-shirt and Marty, the bubbly kid in the bulky sweater and knee-length purple shorts who was grinning with a mouth full of shiny braces.
Marty walked up to her with a bright, friendly smile as bubbly as the kid was himself. "Hi! You're my Grauntie, huh?"
Flora extended her hand to him, somewhat hesitantly. Children were still something of a mystery to the scientist. "Greetings," she said, "do kids still say 'greetings'? I haven't been in this dimension in a really long time."
Martin enthusiastically shook Flora's hand. "Wow!" he said, "Six-fingered handshake! That's a full finger friendlier than normal!"
Flora blinked, then she laughed. "Hey! I like this kid! He's weird!"
