My Commander Shepard from Mass Effect! He's an infiltrator. He was paragon in the first game, but by the time I finished 3, he was 50/50 paragon/renegade. His renegade actions lead to many scars.

He had a ruthless reputation, but when he became a Spectre, he tried to take actions that would lead to less casualties. He wanted to become a better person. However, he saw that by being more merciful, it led to some innocent lives being lost. Being brutal would have gotten the job done easier and cleaner. He slowly reverted back to his old ruthless ways when he saw that playing nice was leading to more regret.
