As I gaze at this painting, I recognize these frosted trees and between them a frozen stream would divide, and beyond I could be seen skating on, following the snakelike turns to find what unknown secrets lie waiting.
I believe in a sort of genetic memory and being of northern Scandinavian descent, I recognize my past as being in Russia at some time.

Ah, love it, we had that scene here just last week (our last snowfall - I hope). I can never get my white paint thin enough to make those fine lines! Wonderful how even the weeds in the foreground are clearly defined.
