Description
A cool November night as the sun casts its last light...Birds' wings spread southward for the year's final flight.
What marvelous creatures, that they can fly at all in such big flocks without crashing into each other! I took this photo about a week ago, as I was preparing to head from San Antonio to Austin. I'll admit that the juxtaposition of the sitting birds and the birds in flight was a complete accident - they got spooked right before my shot.
Photography is funny like that... sometimes all our careful planning is tossed to the merciless wiles of random chance.
