sooo lavender towne, a favorite artist of mine and one of many inspirations, did "the colorblind challenge" where she drew something but with a grayscale filter layer over it, so she could see the colors she was picking but not how they looked next to one another (watch the video if that didn't make sense). it seemed fun so i tried it myself!

however, i adjusted my computer settings so EVERYTHING on my screen was in grayscale and i couldn't see the colors i was picking at all. at first i thought i had a pretty good idea of where the colors were on the color wheel and that it'd be an easy challenge, but i realized i was wrong almost immediately after i finished inking and started putting down colors.

in the end, though, i was actually really happy with this!! it was not intended to be miku, first of all, ironic considering how much i draw her ^^ i just love drawing pigtails~ i actually intended to have the hair a light green like the background, her shirt stripes to be a more pastel-y blue, and the background to be light yellow. everything else came out as expected. but again, i'm still actually happy with this!! expect to see more of this character because i think she's growing on me <3
