Description Well I have a new guilty pleasure, I am officially obsessed with the Disney Channel show Austin and Ally. For those who don’t know, the show is about a girl named Ally who is a talented songwriter, piano player and singer, but she has severe stage fright therefore no one knows of her true talent. Austin is a boy who wants to be a rockstar but he cannot write his own material. They meet and they become the perfect team in making music. I call them the odd couple because pretty much the only thing they have in common is making music, everything else... yeah, they are total opposites: She's shy, loves to eat pickles, and likes romance movies; He's spontaneous, loves to eat pancakes, and likes horror movies, yep total opposites, but I find them adorable together! The last time I was this obsessed over a Disney Channel show was Sonny with a Chance, it makes sense that I love Austin and Ally since the show is created by the same people who made Sonny with a Chance. Anywho, so here’s a couple meme I did of the two characters, there is more to come, so look out for those!

How could you NOT LOVE PETER PAN? It has indians, mermaids, pirates, a fairy, rebellious kids, it's like 4 Disney films in one! (Pocahontus, The Little Mermaid, Pirates of the Carribean, Fantasia) Plus who doesn't dream of flying? Peter Pan is my number one favorite Disney film of all time (2nd is Hercules, 3rd is Sleeping Beauty), although I HATE the sequel, the Tinkerbell films, and the Jake and the Neverland Pirates show - they altered Tinkerbell, she is not the Tinkerbell I knew as a I child, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates? In the movie 'Hook' it states that 'all adults are pirates', and I'd rather be a Lost boy than a pirate. Excuse my rant, I get worked up when it comes to Disney changing everything, but thanks for commenting!

Gnarly, wow, haven't heard that in a while! Radical! And yes, even though I love watching the relationship between Austin and Ally grow, I LOVE Dez, he is just so darn hilarious, definitely my favorite character from the show! My favorite scene of his has to be when Austin and Trish eat his gingerbread family 'CARLOS!' 'BENJAMIN!' how does Disney come up with this stuff?

The first few episodes were good, then it started to go downhill..like most of Disney's new shows..

I agree that some of the recent episodes are not as hilarious as the previous, but I can't help but watch it, Calum who plays Dez is so darn hilarious, and Ross who plays Austin is such a cutie, plus Austin and Ally is pretty much the only show on Disney Channel whose main character is a male, all the other shows main characters are female, it gets kind of tiring when all the female stars get all the attention, the last time Disney Channel had a show whose main leads were male was JONAS and Suite Life... I miss those twins!
But thanks for commenting!

I miss when the main characters were male. Do you remember American Dragon: Jake Long? Phil of the Future? And Suite Life! YESHHH. Suite life of Zack and Cody was good. I didn't like On Deck that much.

DKCissner In reply to DaniFenton12 [2012-11-04 05:40:14 +0000 UTC]

I wasn't really into Jake Long but I remember Phil of the Future! Wait, Even Stevens! God I missed that show! Before Shia LaBeouf made it big in movies I LOVED HIM as Louis Stevens!

Mairelyn In reply to DKCissner [2012-11-04 19:15:24 +0000 UTC]

geez, Now I'm nostalgic for Phil of the future

(and kind of wondering what became of the actor-- I know the female friend went on to do hellcats and stuff- but the phil guy-- i'm kind of afraid to look at his bio)

i'm kind of glad puberty was relatively good for Shia Labeouf, because I remember Loius used to scare me because he just made the weirdest faces.

I didn't like Even Stevens much, but I remember it. I was so young.. Lizzie Miguire? I don't think I spelled that wrong. But remember?? And That's So Raven!

I still remember back when they had the Babysitter's Club, Brotherly Love, Flash Forward, Smart Guy, Sister Sister, So Weird, Boy Meets World and reruns of MMC (the Mickey Mouse Club which introduced Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Ryan Gosling)... those were the days...

OMG! SO weird and Boy meets world!!

I was OBSESSED with So weird. It was my absolute favorite show back then (I adored how they explored not only ghosts and stuff- but also irish folklore like the will-o-whisps (which were Really freaking scary in the show)

It breaks my heart that you can't find DVDs for so weird. :C

I barely remember Boy meets world. I remember when they had a Disney type of club where they showed a bunch of old Mickey Mouse clips and stuff. It was on when Toon Disney was still around. The old cartoons that stopped making new episodes would end up on Toon Disney.

I have a soft spot for this show. It's Disney channel brand of cheese- and goofyness, but I still find it adorable. (and i love ally's sense of style)

Also? Austin looks like peter pan- i swear

DKCissner In reply to Mairelyn [2012-11-03 17:17:25 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, usually I bash about what Disney Channel has become, but I can't help but love Austin and Ally (also my brother likes the show Jessie only because he has a crush on Debby Ryan).
Looks like Peter? The actor or the way I draw him? If it's the way I draw him it could be that Peter Pan is my number one favorite Disney film of all time (I HATE the Tinkerbell movies and Jake and Neverland Pirates though, they destroyed the way that I see Tinkerbell from the first movie and Peter Pan gets no recognition at all - not counting the 'Peter Pan Returns' episode of Jake, that doesn't even make any sense, Peter Pan LIVES on Neverland, where would he go? It's complete bull to me) but excuse my endless rant, yeah CLASSIC Disney is pretty much what has inspired my drawings. Thanks for commenting!

Jessie is also cute (I specially like the butler character--- Also the fact that Joey Richter from starkid appeared and that made me smile)

*facepalm*
I meant he looks like Peter the character; to me at least.

to me there is something, I can't pin point What but they look similar.

I mean personality/manerism-wise austin has a sort of peter pan-ish something.

As for the spin-offs--- tinker bell and jake.

Well-- I do agree with you on jake and the pirates; it's a outrage that they took the world and took the main character out and he barely there. (I remember I was in the park one day and a couple of kids were playing and I heard hook and smee and I asked them "Oh are you guys playing peter pan? who is playing peter?" and they went "peter who? where playing jake and the pirates.

That broke my heart a little, because like you, I grew up with peter pan; he was (and still is) my #1 favorite character. and it breaks my heart that he's no longer getting the recognition he deserves.

as for the tinker bell thing --- We'll I admit I really like it, mainly cause the Art of the movies/stuff is Gorgeous. (and besides, yeah Tinker bell was vain, catty, jealous and extremely vengeful- but from watching peter pan more times that i can count, Peter was really surprised at tinker bell when she acted the way she did towards Wendy *pulling her hair and trying to get her hurt* So I figured Tinker bell is usually nice, friendly, etc qualities showcased in the tinkerbell franchise-- except when there is someone there that triggers her ugly side. I mean I don't know WHERE it said it (but i do know it was way before the tinker bell franchise) but it was said that fairies like tinker bell where so tiny that their hearts could only hold one emotion all over, at the time. meaning if they were happy they were bursting with happy if they were angry they were explosive angry.

so yeah, that's how I reason about it.

Or I imagine the tinker bell franchise is way before peter pan and i'm over feeling weird about it.

definitely agree with you on the shamefulness of jake and the pirates though.

Bertram has to be one of my favorite characters on the show, I just love how he hates his job because he's around the kids all the time, however my favorite character has to be Luke, he is mischievous, his crush on Jessie is hilarious, and turns out that the actor is a great dancer! Plus I am a sucker for kids who have freckles, they just look so adorable!

Ross Lynch and Peter Pan, at first I thought it kind of weird being the fact that you are comparing a real person to a cartoon character, but when you mentioned personality in a way I can see it. I don't know if it is Ross himself or the way he plays his character Austin, but he has a childlike charm to him even though he is a teenager, plus he is kind of mischievous and daring like Peter, and now that I think of it, he kind of reminds me of the actor who was not only the voice of Peter, but was the actual model, Mr. Bobby Driscoll (may he rest in piece, I pray that none of the Disney stars do not end up the way that he did, his story was tragic, but he will always be not only the voice, but the heart and soul of Peter Pan).

You've got to be frikin' kidding me, the kids did not know who Peter Pan is? Well that just puts a dagger in my heart. I pity the generation of the kids of today, because they will never really know the true Disney that I grew up with. When I was a child the Disney Channel back then showed the classic Disney films all the time, they also showed the classic Mickey Mouse cartoons! Yes they show a couple of them now during commercial breaks but they shortened them and they altered the sound which pisses me off because it is not the original. Children today are not seeing the classic Mickey Mouse cartoons that Walt Disney created when he was alive, in some of them he was the actual voice of Mickey Mouse himself! Again, forgive my rant, I am just sickened by what Disney Channel has been reduced to, even though it kind of my makes me a hypocrite because I do like the shows Austin and Ally and Jessie...

Mairelyn In reply to DKCissner [2012-11-04 14:37:59 +0000 UTC]

yeah Bertram is awesome.

as for Ross lynch- peter pan; sorry it sounded Weird. what I meant was kind of like fancasting? (I mean I guess who have seen it around? when there's an animated movie and people pick actors for an imaginary live-action movie version? that sort of stuff. I quite like doing it with disney characters)

and I didn't know the name of the person who voiced peter pan cool! (kind of really afraid to google him outside of photos thought- your words make me nervous to find out what happened to him. He has a lovely nose and eyes though.)

yes, it was Heartbreaking. that's why everytime I babysit i show the kids i babysit the disney movie version OR read them from JM barrie. to try to change the tide a little.

i'm Not Too worried thought- what's with disney re-releasing the Classics in 3D, it's bound to have an impact.

as for the "hypocrite part" I dont think liking Austin and ally or Jessie makes you a hypocrite. I seem to recall the disney of ol' also had live-action shows amist the cartoon--- so it's not a betrayal or anything like that.

and at least disney still has cartoon that ARE disney (like where I live there still re-runs of aladdin and the little mermaid)
. as opposed to Cartoon network which I dont even recognize anymore.

(this image is a perfect example of the HUGE change in cartoon network:
