Whoa, cool it. I love Spike as much as the next brony, probably more than the next brony, but from a story point of view 8 main characters were enough for the episode. I'm sure Spike will get more spotlight later, don't forget it's Spike there's a massive statue of outside Cadance and Shinings' house XD

Spike is the dragon who is relentlessly dedicated to their little sister, played a part in saving their Crystal Empire on two occasions, acted as their ring bearer, and will become a pseudo-uncle when their baby is born. You'd think they would consider him family, or at least a priority invitee for the fun game they set up to announce Cadance's pregnancy. But they didn't. They placed a higher priority on friends than family. And G.M. Berrow already has a clear track record of treating Spike like garbage.

Look I understand what you're saying but four things. 1. Spike was at the party. You can hear him at the party. 2. Spike isn't a main character. Or else we would say the mane 7 instead of mane 6. 3. He wasn't denounced from anything. 4. I've never read the G.M. Berrow books. So I wouldn't know.

1. Spike was at the party, but not the scavenger hunt or the announcement. One outta three isn't good enough.

a. Spike isn't a central character, but whether or not he's a main character is a matter of opinion, and I haven't seen enough evidence to convince me he isn't.
b. Main character status shouldn't mean a damn thing to that character's family. At the very least, all the shit he's done for those two ungrateful royal asses should matter.
c. "Mane 6" is a term the fans conjured up to label the six central characters; it has nothing to do with anything. (Besides, some people use it ironically to refer to all seven of them; if that wasn't true, I would really despise every motherfucking ponyphile who says "mane 6" this and "mane 6" that.)
3. Shiny and Cady deemed Spike's [alleged] friends a higher priority than Spike himself, thus denouncing him as family. Then Twilight said, "I got to enjoy it with all my best friends" thus denouncing him as friend.
4. Oh, this is fun. G.M. Berrow thinks so little of Spike that she even lowers her professional standards just to illustrate her low opinion. In Rarity's installment, she introduced all six ponies with their names and dialogue, but decided Spike wasn't worth mentioning. So when he speaks, he pops jarringly into the scene. Unprofessional as fuck. Then Rarity introduces the ponies as her "five best friends in the world!", and only mentions Spike by saying, "Oh, Spike will carry your luggage".
Berrow is a biased little bitch who only cares about bronies and doesn't give a damn about Spike fans. Spike fans are to her what immigrants are to a racist Russian nationalist.

As for 2. c., the creators of the show actually call them the Mane 6.
And wow, you're kinda taking this a bit far, don't you think? .-. I mean, if you don't like how he's treated, stop watching the show and reading the books, or just deal with it. Spike is a fictional character, it's not a life-and-death situation.

That's because they're the six central characters.
Thing is, it's a show that people (even myself) enjoy very much, and are invested in. I wouldn't stop watching even if they wrote Spike out of the show (though I'd certainly run out of nice things to say to the creators). But it's not easy to remain perpetually optimistic about it when the one thing that heavily detracts from my enjoyment never fucking changes.
Grit Munching Berrow never should've been offered the opportunity to write an episode. Or at least, she should've been forced to prove her ability to contribute by writing a Spike script that wouldn't piss people off.
