Chapter 5: Kye the Legionaria

"What the hell? It talks!!" Jay shouted at the large cobra snake that was Salazar
"Yes I can talk you impudent buffoon" Salazar snapped at him, "five different languages actually."

Jay shook his head and rubbed his eyes, "Now I know I've lost it" he said, getting up to his feet, "yo bro" Jaz said, nudging his brother.
"What?" Daniel grunted, but still refused to move
"I think they have two for one on steak and ale pie as the bar in town today"
Immediately Daniel jumped to his feet, "Why are we still here then?" he marched out the room to which Jaz and Serenity laughed and promptly followed.

Salazar slithered up behind them and coiled himself around Daniel and came to rest across his shoulders, "Take the third right on this corridor and you'll be heading to the exit" the serpent informed them all. Daniel instinctively took the right Salazar had told him to, whilst looking through the papers he had pulled out of the drawer in the desk, examining the symbols on them and the text under neither each one, the one he had burned into Serenity's arm was marked as the heaven sigil and the text beneath read:

Heaven sigil- the bearer of this sigil is the mark of purity (yea, like Serenity was pure) and has the ability to be able to sense the 'aura' of a person or any living thing on command. This sigil also instils the power of nullification.

Dan kept reading the last word, nullification, he had no idea what that meant so he decided to ask the snake, "Salazar, what exactly is nullification?"
"That is actually quite simple," Salazar answered, "Nullification is the power to prevent the powers the other Sigil marks give." At this answer Daniel raised an eye brow to the snake; he still didn't understand what it was. Salazar shook his head before resting it back on Daniel's shoulder.

Eventually, after what seemed hours, the four of them reached the main door of the bunker. The large double, steel framed, extremely thick doors stood tall and strong keeping the outside world out and whatever else in. Daniel held up and stick of dynamite and Salazar took it from him instantly and threw it back in the bag, "You have a better idea?" Jaz snapped at the cobra.
Salazar snapped back at Jaz, literally, making him jump back and land with his foot in a trash can, the snake gave a chuckled and continued, "yes actually. The accesses code is 4-4-9-3," Salazar instructed them, Daniel punched the numbers into the key pad next to the door as he said them and the door made a loud noise as the hydraulics began to work and pull the doors open. Serenity looked back into the bunker. She stared hard for a moment, she was sure she had heard something, then everything flash sepia coloured with one solitary Dark Blue shape, and then back to normal. "Guys, I think there's someone else here" she called to them. In response to this Jaz quickly threw her the two sword handles and then he loaded his revolver again, before he pointed it down the dark passageway.

Another person in the same kind of armour as the one that killed Serenity jumped out at them. He was visibly smaller than the other and long blonde dreads could be seen out the bottom of the helmet which, like the rest of his armour, was black with gold trims. "Die, Necavi bastard" He yelled, judging by his voice he was in his late teens, maybe seventeen or eighteen years of age, and dived at Jaz who promptly opened fire and caught his arm, making him hold it, "Argh" he yelled out in pain when the slug entered his arm. He landed on the floor and his helmet fell off his head before it rolled off along the floor.

He looked up, showing his young face, he was quite handsome, his eyes a deep blue and his skin almost flawless. Serenity was captivated by his face for a second before she shook herself back to reality. She and Jay picked him up and slammed him against a wall, holding him against it, "What do you want?" Serenity asked, holding her blade to his throat.
"Go ahead and kill me. You Necavi are all the same. See a Legionaria and cut his head off" The man closed his eyes.
"Hold on," Daniel moved Serenity's blade away from his through, "Who's the Necavi?" Daniel asked him. He opened his eyes and took a long, hard look at Daniel and then at Salazar who was now sitting up, alert and paying attention, "You really don't know?" he pondered aloud, "but you look so much like them," He said, shaking his head, "Necavi kill us, try to find a way to steal our power to survive. They even use Undead on us."
Jaz looked at serenity and she looked back at him before they both dropped him, "One of those rammed its sword through her chest" Jaz said.
"Then how is she still alive"
"The sigil she now carries on her right upper arm," Salazar hissed, "It is the mark of heaven"
He looked at Serenity properly and then at the other two, "The Snake man, heaven's representative and the rider" he mumbled, "two of three isn't bad."
"I suggest we keep him with us" Salazar put in
"I agree" Daniel nodded, "It would be wrong to leave him here anyway." Daniel walked out after saying this and hopped into the car; bringing it back around to the front and once everyone, including Kye, was in the car he floored the gas pedal until they reached the warehouse

The Legionaria introduced himself as Kye during the trip and upon closer inspection it was obvious he wasn't human. His eyes had no white but where entirely iris with the pupil actually going horizontally across the middle, his teeth where sharp, almost dagger like in their construction and his dark brown hair was very long, coming down to his neck and he claimed he kept it short. His skin was a light tan when seen at first glance but when looked at closely you could see it was more like it was jewel encrusted, he said that these little crystals in his skin allowed him to regenerate any lost limb in time. Then there was his arms; when the mood struck him he could make blades shoot out of the side of his forearms, near his wrist, that curved back to end just behind his elbow, which he more than happily demonstrated when Serenity asked how that was possible.

When they got back to the warehouse they Took Kye inside and told him what this place was before they showed him where he could get changed, Jaz having some clothes that would fit him and he soon came back out wearing A black T-shirt, Blue cargo jeans and a pair of combat boots.
"It's not the best style combo in the world, but it'll do" Jaz scratched the back of his head, "Why were you in the same armour as that undead thing anyway?"
"Oh, I needed the armour since I was going to fight him" Kye answered honestly, "I didn't think I could kill him without it."
Jay yawned and fell back onto the sofa, "Well, I'm off to bed. You'll have to bunk with Serenity" he told Kye and then slid down the banister of the stairs and into the warehouse.

Kye gave Serenity a shy smile and combed his hair back with his fingers, "Is there no where else for me to sleep?" he pleaded with Daniel, "Afraid not pal, my prayers are with you" He put his hand on Kye's shoulder as he walked past.
"Oh come on, I'm not that bad" Serenity yelled after Daniel, "just don't disturb me and I won't bite" She smiled and then followed her brothers down into the warehouse, reluctantly followed by Kye.
