After doing a bit of searching I found out that in the 5th panel the are playing a game called The Settlers of Catan. At first I thought it might be some form of monopoly but that's why we have Google to find these things.

I think you were right, as far as I can tell while Dungeons and Dragons is a pen and paper game some people use small figurines and create a map to use as a game board to so players know where they are in a dungeon and where the can go. But I don't play D&D so I maybe wrong, but if I did that would be how I would play it.
