this is increadible. not only have you managed to create this brilliant atmosphere surrounding your subject, but you've also provoked so many emotions... i want to know why he's smoking, who else is in the room, what time it is... etc. you've made this such a timeless, cinematic piece. i honestly can't say enough good things about it. the smoke creates an almost uneasy feeling and how the shadows fall against his skin are more than beautiful. i completely admire you and really hope to be half as good as you are some day. honestly.

What is it about a cigarette that, even in the stillness of a photograph, it manages to convey all the grit and appetite of a dirty kiss? You can almost smell the nicotine on his fingertips.
