Phanto had an older step sister who would take care of him more than his step mom. The step mother was leader of a group of poltergeists who plunder souls from living Oddians. Phanto wanted to bring her a soul that soul being Gon. After a little mishap, realization,explanation and leaving those who took care of you, Gon, Uni and Phanto went into good terms and even let him be a coworker and roommate. The story of how Phanto adopted Nacho is a whole other episode or segment
