This is a custom mesh and texture for the Asgard in the Stargate Races mod for Sins of a Solar Empire.

The original version of this ship was one of the first projects I textured in Substance Painter. Like some of the others I have been revisiting as of late, I figured I could do a much better job of it now than my early bumbling around in the software. A fresh set of UVs with much higher texel density helped things along a lot as well. I also addressed some smoothing issues in the geometry of the mesh that had always bothered me.

This version of the mesh is 14,021 vertices and 15,656 triangles. A bit high for a cruiser but I can live with that. It's being rendered here out of IRay using a native 2k resolution texture set.
