Description

Since there's major differences between what was uploaded previously, I decided to make it a new deviation and copy/paste all the text stuff.

SHORT VERSION:

Xen's name:

- the zen experience of St. GIGA's satellite radio music

- the X in BS-X

Xen's character:

- music lover

- non-binary (X-gender)

As noted by the word above the character's head (and demolishing hopes of Half Life 3 ever happening ), Xen is the name. It's basically the same word as Zen but with an X instead, and I wanted the X version because, well, we already have Bright (on the left) and Scarlet (on the right), and thus, BS-X!

Where Scarlet was named due to an incorrect translation of "abata", representing the playable avatar, and Bright representing visuals, Xen represents the audio. Before working with Nintendo, St. GIGA was a satellite radio company known for broadcasting ambient music known as "Tide of Sound", which to at least one person is a zen experience listening to it. Xen is thus a music buff. The quotes in the picture by Xen and Bright also reference quotes used under the St. GIGA logo: "I'm here." "I'm glad you're there."

Bright and Scarlet are respectively the Boy and Girl avatar options in the Satellaview cartridge, which lets you play in a town with its own story that, unfortunately, never got resolved. Xen is both! ...Along with any other identity that isn't exclusively "Boy" and "Girl". In other words, Xen is Enby. The X name can thus also be seen as the X option for gender.
