Description Steve Irwin died today with an injury when scuba diving a Stingray’s bard stabbed his heart when filming for his new documentary.

He was 44 years old and had two children and a loving wife who I would like to pay my respects to along with his family and friends.

I woke up this morning and cried at the news, I was a huge fan and when younger I used to wish to be just like him. I always admired his skill with animals and it’s sad to hear he has left so soon and young.

So, this picture was simply drawn in loving memory of him. We all miss you Steve <3

Mio.

Its a wonderful picture.

Rip, Steve. You're missed dearly.

He was filming for his daughter's TV show. She's 8 years old. I want a TV show!
Atleast someone's already carrying on the 'steve' legacy.

Yeah. She defenatly shouldn't blame herself.
She might grow up hating/fearing stingrays, which is totally understandable.

I knew some people would have this sort of reaction. Personally, I applaud him for his dedication to conservation, his vast knowledge of animals and their behavior (which is why he did the "crazy" things we saw him doing on TV), and his amazing bravery and sense of adventure. Too many of us sit on our asses playing it safe through life while adventurers like Steve Irwin or test pilots and the like take extraordinary risks while others simply observe and say, "They're crazy. They deserve it because they took the risks."

Well, I thought he was an amazing guy and I'm sure he loved his wife and children very much and they will miss him dearly. The world needs more people willing to make personal sacrifices, not simply to entertain us, but to maintain the sense of adventure and discovery that is quickly fading away in our fast-paced, shrinking world.

Penguins4life In reply to tsilvers [2006-09-11 22:43:55 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, i totally agree with that. My best friend thinks he deserved it because "he was always playing around with the animals". We got into a pretty big fight over it as well. So many people will just sit on their butts watching others make differences in the world, while thinking they are retards for trying. Steve was a great man, and was hard working. No one really deserves to die, even if they murder someone. thay can still be forgiven. If anyone doesn't respect what Steve was doing, then they have no respect for animals or the world.

I totally agree ^^ people are lazy compared to what he did for animals and how he effected people around the world, he was amazing.
