Somewhere on the edge of town, high on a hill, lies a decaying house and a decaying soul. Her name is Candace, and she’s long overdue on finding her way to the afterlife. As a result, she’s become very forgetful- she can hardly remember her own past- and until recently, she hasn’t done much but mope around the halls of the aging manor she resides in. Now, though, a(yet to be named) human dude has entered her post-life. He was exploring her home based on the rumors of hauntings, and found the rumors were true! For Candace, he’s the first person she could connect with, as he seems to have a gift for seeing spirits.
Over time, their friendship grows, breaking the barriers of mortality. This friendship is put to the test, however, when whats-his-name opens up the basement of Candace’s home, unleashing malevolent spirits that were apparently also living in the manor. Weird! Faced with imminent danger, The Dude puts all his trust in Candace, who has a powerful, though risky ability. That ability is invoking Trigger Mortis , a union between a living body and a restless soul. Together, he and Candace become a being far stronger than themselves, capable of fending off ethereal threats. While they do manage to chase away the house’s hidden guests, their newfound strength acts as a beacon to those who also use Trigger Mortis- and all them want to be the only one with the power. And so, Candace and The Guy are thrown into a fight for survival.
