Description
This blue jean pocket quilt was an interesting challenge. An older gentleman friend has the problem of his kids "borrowing" his wallet and car keys when he is napping on the couch. He asked if I could take his small brown lap quilt , put pockets on it, and make it bigger. The solution was to make a blue jean pocket quilt for the back side of the brown quilt. To firm up the extended sided , I used quilted batting from an old mattress pad, to sew to the blue jean quilt, before sewing blue jean and batting to the brown part. The ending project is a heavier lap quilt, where wallet and keys can be hidden. Hey, son, try to find the money in one out of 18 pockets, without waking up dad. Or finding the mouse trap first!
