I always end up unconsciously projecting my issues onto characters in their overall themes. I once had one dude with a whole plot about trying to escape a castle, while I was living in a dodgy situation that I was still in denial about. I shoulda just listened to my OC and left that place sooner.

My most recent OC is a former primary school teacher who dropped everything to embrace his eccentric side and became a pro-wrestler. I made the backstory on a whim and have since gotten more fixated on it. Gifted kid determined to get a respectable job and live up to self-imposed high standards when he wants to completely change his look and go into his dream career. 🫠 Where've I heard that before? And here I am doing a degree that I kinda don't want to do anymore, knowing I'm not going to enjoy the kind of jobs I'll be qualified to do. Hm. 😂😂 Maybe I should just go wild, get all the piercings and tattoos I've been wanting and try going full time as a writer? 😭😭😭
