Description
Imagining pterosaurs run is something I still have a hard time with, especially because I know about it for not such a long time and because there's not much art depicting it (or I just haven't found it yet).A Dsungaripterus weii was my victim for today. Luckily I had some good refs for the running pose like this: s2.hubimg.com/u/4785265_f520.j…
Apparantly pterosaurs ran sort of this way because of the membrane between their arms and legs. Must've looked funny with the smaller species I guess, but a Hazegopteryx running towards you like that was high likely another matter...

Maybe some of the smaller Pterosaurus was running a while on the ground before they take off

No, all pterosaurs took the air in the same way by quadrupedal launching: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALziqt…
Or that's how we at the moment think they did

Ah, it was so long ago when they were alive. Running wasn't perfected yet.

Running was actually quite perfected back then. It were only the primitive kinds of pterosaurs who were sort of limited in their movement on the ground, but the advanced short tailed pterosaurs (like this one) were well adapted for moving on land.

Actually scaphognathines and Dimorphodon could get around nicely on foot (and the latter actually shows signs of flying only in emergencies, much like a gamebird).

I know, but this is from before I was up to date with pterosaur whereabouts.

Thanks
Those are weird things to see move on the ground... Very interesting though.
