No one needs a made-up term to stand for equality. All they need is to stand for equality.Β

Modern feminism is a petty joke started by tumblrinas. It was good fifty years ago, it's not so good nowadays, especially not in the first world, where it re-started.

Ever notice how some of them resort to No True Scotsmen in order to cling onto the word "feminism"?

"but they're not REAL feminists.Β  Feminism is about equality"

Not the best impression if they're desperate to keep the focus on only one sex

The second you say 'not all men' feminists will foam at the mouth. But 'not all feminists' is completely fine and dandy...

Perhaps if they took some responsibility for the terrible people in their movement and tried to address the issues instead of distancing themselves, feminism might stand a chance. But they won't, and it's too late now. Feminism is beyond saving. It's time to let it die.

I don't know about you, but it seems a lot of people need feminism because they're so desperate for validation that they'll do and say pretty much anything.

Eeyup. It's a way of being included in a community.

It's like why moderate Muslims can be corrupted into being terrorists. Terrorist does something bad in the name of your faith. People ostracize you because they associate you with said terrorist. You are desperate to find a group that accepts you. You are now vulnerable to extremism. Extremists find you, offer you sympathy and a community. They turn you against the rest of the world. You are led to believe that you must retaliate against the world. You believe terrorism is the answer. Terrorist does something bad in the name of your faith.

Feminists who started out moderate and were attracted to the (supposed) principles of equality in feminism are associated with radical, awful feminists who have hijacked the movement and are ostracized. When radical feminists are your only sympathizers, guess what? You're probably going to become one of them.

Here's the difference. In Islam, the terrorists are a very small minority and moderate Muslims have been fighting back against them for centuries. But in feminism, the radicals have become the rotten heart of the movement and moderate feminists resort to NAFALT or No True Scotsman or distancing themselves from the problems instead of addressing the issues. Feminism is beyond saving because its members have slaughtered it and passively watched it die.
