Appearance: To those outside of the Auster herd, Gor may seem like he fits the beauty standards of the kingdom. After all, he gives off a regal air, his form is not too heavy or wide, and he does carry traits that are more deerlike. There is also his coat which IS white and very well maintained, along with the long unicorn tail that can be seen trailing behind him. Of course..this is also overlooking his rather…awkward form. Gorgon might not be the most colorful or unique looking horse, next to some he looks outright plain! His mutations however, have ensured that he is just different enough to no longer meet the preferred standards bestowed onto most royals. It is not uncommon for him, or his parents, to hear him being addressed as “unfortunate” when speaking of his appearance. (Much to all of their distaste.)

High society is rarely known for its inclusivity, much less its kindness. Barbed words layered in honey are not uncommon in a gathering of the elite and is usually the source of that week's rumor. Perhaps this is where Gorgon's un-friendly disposition comes from? Like many other royals, Gorgon is hardly unfamiliar with being mocked (especially when it comes to his legitimacy). His nursemaid's couldn't seem to recall a time when he wasn’t a sour faced colt, though they can remember when he became good at hiding his discontent with all around him. It's not that Gorgon loathes all- he just really REALLY does not appreciate being taken “for a stroll” (or as some may say, being fed cow dung). Pointless arguments, drama for drama's sake, stirring the pot; it all deeply annoys him to the point where he quite often has 0 chill. Thankfully he is decent at hiding his full range of aggravation, but it does slip out in the form of sullen expressions.

A happier, less cranky, version of Gorgon can usually be found when he’s off on his own or away from high society- usually surrounded by plush bedding or a nice meal or simply just peace and quiet. While he does detest the irritating elements of being a duke, he also very much enjoys its privileges and has no interest in losing his pampered lifestyle.

History…:
[Early 2006] The first and only colt to Litwhitt and Magneca, Gorgon was spoiled rotten as soon as he came into this world. Neither of his parents were particularly interested in the opposite genders, or each other, their union m an amicable argument versus a gesture of true love. Both wished for love, but not to become social pariahs or outsiders, and so their partnership came to be. The conception of Gorgon would take significantly longer (neither parent were all that interested in that process) but eventually a small bleating colt would enter the world, already full of discontent and opinions.

[2006-07] A restless colt, Gorgon was often plagued by nightmares and rarely able to sleep, leaving him in a weaker state and often susceptible to illness. By the time summer arrived he was often delirious, often refusing interactions with others in favor of hiding away to ease his headaches. As the year processed, and the good dreams continued, Gorgon did manage to gain some of his health back. He remembers little of this time, only of worried conversations that bled into a tense atmosphere when the empire was thrown into war. Much too small to fight, Gorgon sought refuge with his family while others fought valiantly at Acror’s Cradle. Often overlooked, Gorgon became accustomed to overhearing others' conversations during his day. It was difficult for him to understand the concept of war, or of royalty for that matter, though he did seem to pick up on the general anxiety and stress that clung to those around him. Later in life he wound recall his mother mentioning seeing a phantom like doe within the woods, around the time the king went missing. Beyond that, Gorgon's memories of his early years are rather hazy. He was told he only occasionally had magical leaks when he was this age, mostly when he was overwhelmed or hangry.

[2008] There was much excitement about a festival towards the end of the year..or was it a fake battle? Gorgon neither understood nor cared. He was happy that the tension on everyone's backs was disbursing. Less stress meant less upsets! Small magical leaks started happening more frequently, thus beginning his magical education.

[2009] Accidentally caused havoc with his magic late Autumn when he suddenly lost his footing..and floated out a window. Other than that, it was a fairly mundane year (for him) dedicated to his studies of magic, educite, and whatever else his parents deemed important enough to learn.

[2010-2011] Overheard the first suggestions of potential mates/mares being made to his mother by another noble. It did not seem to be a particularly nice suggestion, especially when he was described as “unfortunate”. Gorgon becomes visibly unhappy whenever such notions are now mentioned, even in jest.

[ Currently ] Stuck somewhere between wishing to be seen as a fully grown Duke and wishing to be overlooked like he was as a youngin, Gorgon spends most of his days in a grumpy-ish mood as he wanders his family's estate with a sober face in tow. Years of magic tutorage has left him with fairly decent control of his abilities, though it’ll be some time before he can be considered a master.
His parents (mainly his father) have been encouraging him to meet other royals in hopes of forming friendships that could potentially lead to more...be it politically or romantically (or platonically, really they just want him to talk to..literally anyone other than just them).
At this time Gorgon has little to say on any other herd, partly out of indifference but mainly because he really has no idea how to grasp the concept of other cultures at the moment..mostly because he wasn’t really educated on them and lacks basic information about the other herds. If it doesn't affect him directly…it doesn’t really enter his realm of thought.
