I was watching the AT season 4 DVD when "I Remember You" came on, afterwards, I watched the cometary and came up with this.
I feel like Simon/Ice King is like a grandparent with Alzheimer's or dementia, and even though he doesn't remember her, he knows he likes just hanging out with Marceline.
I didn't want this to be too feelsie, just a sort of, "I wanna hang out with you bro." kinda vibe.
