So. A fair amount of photoshop tinkering later, and here we are. We won’t go into how many pictures I took of the originals to finagle the background. It was a lot.

Yeah, I noticed some problems once I got to the coloring stage (I'm usually so excited to finally get to that stage that I sometimes tend to overlook things.) But I was reluctant to do more than make a few digital embellishments to the actual figures since I'm posting this alongside the unaltered originals. I'm curious though, while I know the parts that I think are wrong with him, would you mind telling me what specifically you believe is off?

Well, his torso is much too long from shoulder to crotch compared to his legs, the pelvis doesn't appear to sit beneath or attach to the trunk as it should, the shoulders are a bit low, and the ratio of forearm to upper arm is off. It makes his arms look too long, though I think they're actually fine overall, it's just that the elbow is too high. Also, where his right (viewer left) leg disappears into his boot makes it impossible for it to be connected to his foot.
The parts are wonderfully rendered (especially the shading on his knees), but they don't come together right.

I like the textures and effects you added. But I kind of think the picture(s) were more poignent with the barrier between them, it better suits the longing expressions they have.

I knew from the beginning what I wanted to do with them, but I posted both versions since I was torn between two separate pieces or one combined piece. I also think it's nice to compare the unaltered originals to the embellished final version. I just wish my scanner could decently pick up metallics, so that the backgrounds in the separate pieces wouldn't look so strange when compared to the real things.
