Description In March of 2015, I asked people to suggest a cute, delicate, slender character. The selected character was Naomi ( fav.me/d8lyibw ), suggested by RaidMinerS97 . I also liked SuperSpeedster6399 's character Rina, seen here fav.me/d7qhb7g , but I wasn't going to make two animations.

Between March and July I had a real hard time at university, so IΒ  didn't work on it. Then I left the internet for the summer. Sorry for the delay. Overall, this animation didn't turn out as good as I originally planned.

So... In this animation, you can expand Naomi in a multitude of ways, include air, water and pregnancy. Her breasts and belly can expand separately. I invented my own SoftBlob library to make this. I'm pretty sure will not find anything like this anywhere else on Deviantart. It doesn't have all the features I originally intended to put in here. Some of them were too hard to implement and others were just too tedious. After so much work, I was getting tired of it. Still, I hope you enjoy what I have here.

There was a problem I was unable to solve. Sometimes, if the breasts or belly are moving around a lot, they seem to vanish or move to another place for a moment. I think it has something to do with the function that calculates collisions with other SoftBlobs, but I can't find out where.

This is definitely your best work so far; also, very neat idea to add few more things for this interactive animation!
(Sorry for taking a bit time to reply; my Flash Player was corrupted and I needed to re-install it to see this) :I

Hell, if I knew it would come out as this good, I would actually PAID to you before doing this!
Gotta love that rubbing her head thing, tho :3

Indeed. And I can say with 100% Finnish honesty that I gave my review on the technical parts and the outlook; not because of that ol' "I'm-such-a-inflation-fetish-that-praise-the-maker"-way (Get it?..)

Thou; sadly she hasn't been used by me in any of my works so far so far :I
I really need to get her into something... Or just plain give 'er away

Definitely your highest quality animation to date. You took a lot of time to make this and it paid off in the end.

I do notice a few glitches at times, but I don't think you've really perfected this engine yet. Regardless, I bet you're happy with the end result anyways, and I'm pretty happy that you've finally decided to upload it.

Right, I was going to put that in the description, but forgot. The breasts sometimes vanish or move around randomly. I was unable to find out why.

press the button number 4, you'll see the yellow light of energy. now, press the right or left button. the color of the energy will change. look around the blue color and you'll see something weird.

I think you have made people paranoid with secrets hidden in your animations, trying to find them in each one! This makes your animations more interesting! It makes me laugh when people comment saying they feel there is a secret in them! Even I try to find any secrets, zooming out in the animation, clicking randomly, pressing buttons on the keyboard! You make unique stuff!Β Β

This is an extremely good animation, I love how many frames there are (which result in the smoothness of the animations).

Doom-the-wolf In reply to RandomCrap123 [2015-11-08 17:45:08 +0000 UTC]

I haven't used a lot of frames at all. A few in her mouth and eyes, that's about it. The belly and breasts were programmed.

RandomCrap123 In reply to Doom-the-wolf [2015-11-09 03:22:08 +0000 UTC]

It just seems like more frames were used in the animating of the head.

Update: So I saw your profile and I understand (if not a bit confused) as what you mean when you say that you're not an Artist or an Animator. As of this edit I am going to read the journal entry posted on your profile. I apologize for my shortsightedness.Β

Doom-the-wolf In reply to KegorianRune [2015-11-08 17:56:47 +0000 UTC]

What I mean is that I don't want to be an artist. I don't try to improve my skills, look for better techniques or ask for criticism. I don't plan to make it into a profession. I don't enjoy making art, I just do it so I can see the results.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

yams99 In reply to Doom-the-wolf [2015-11-09 02:07:35 +0000 UTC]

all art is founded upon science. Games came from comp sci. cinema and photography came from the camera, projector, and some chemistry. A building designer is just a creative civil engineer, theater has audio engineering and a bit of robotics, the physical arts like dance have, well, physics.

even if you just want to solve problems, art is most scientists' profession. We just solve problems to make a designer's/artist's work easier. Even a OS kernel engineer is designing a platform for another platform for an artist to create things more easily.

The most invaluable of us all are people like you. the ones who have skill in both science and art (even if you don't enjoy that second one). People like you need no help in creating an end product. Like the guy who made Dust: An Elysian Tail by himself. SoB probably never has to work another day of his life if he doesn't want to.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Doom-the-wolf In reply to yams99 [2015-11-09 02:09:33 +0000 UTC]

Art is designed specifically to be appreciated. Programming is designed to solve problems. Programming can be used to create art, but it is not an art in itself.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

yams99 In reply to Doom-the-wolf [2015-11-09 06:05:42 +0000 UTC]

yet only art can be "designed". Design denotes that there's more than one acceptable solution. A formula or mathematical function only ever has one solution. Only one answer is correct in science. There's more than one solution to most programming problems. Even if there is likely only one most efficient way to solve said problem, ya gotta get creative to find that most efficient way. This gives some a more artistic interpretation of programming.

I mostly agree with your point of view, I just enjoy these kinds of existential questions. Ignore my bullshit if it bothers you.

Doom-the-wolf In reply to yams99 [2015-11-09 06:08:03 +0000 UTC]

My main way of separating between art and non-art is the fact that art is designed to have no functional purpose whatsoever. The fact that programming has uncountable applications in the real world is a good reason not to consider it art.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

yams99 In reply to Doom-the-wolf [2015-11-09 06:35:02 +0000 UTC]

I can see that logic, with the exception of art that's meant to educate. Ya know, sim games, discovery channel etc. I suppose defining art is an art in of itself (and that's where I'd leave the troll face if I knew how). Nice talking with ya. I'ma go bang my head against my ML homework until it works properly.

Programming is a lot like drawing or animating. It's the "*knowing* how to approchach something and using the available tools to achieve it". Programming is an art, too, just different tools and different set of mind.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Doom-the-wolf In reply to Paraffine [2015-11-08 17:49:54 +0000 UTC]

Programming is nothing like drawing or animating. It's a tool for building software solutions to solve problems. It's not an art because it has a functional purpose.
