Description
This is Neyu, a character owned by TotenkreuzEX . He offered his character for this animation. Neyu is an ice Felcarune. If you don't know what that is... I don't either. They're like bunnies, but have short arms and use their ears to grab things. Still, she's very cute. But don't let her appearance fool you. She's a highly proficient mage and a teacher. And she's big, too. She's over 2.5 meters tall. So you don't want her to jump on you (Escpecially not with an inflated belly)Anyways, after the introduction, the first thing I want to say is that this animation took a whole pile of work and time. It must have been somewhere between 20 and 40 hours I worked on it. I hope the work was worth it. The owner of this character had quite a long list of requirements for this animation. Sad to say, not a lot of them got put into here. I took liberties to change the controls and story a bit to make it easier to work with.
With that out of the way... ...in this animation she's lying in a snowy field, and you can choose to expand her in two different ways. You can use pregnancy magic or water inflation magic. For the pregnancy expansion you get a snow wand, and for the water inflation you get a magic glass. I want to emphasize that glass because if not you won't appreciate it. So you better listen! (I'm just joking, don't take this too seriously). Having a fixed volume of water take the shape of the rotated glass it's in might seem simple when you look at it, but it took a lot of complicated math and optimization problems to do it right. This animation was pretty complicated altogether. It had so many things, I hope I didn't miss something or make a mistake somewhere.
Now I'm rambling... So...
Have fun! I hope it's good enough.

sounds good to me. Β I agree that other expansion makers don't get enough credit where credit is due.

I didn't think anyone actually looked at my journals. ha ha.
I'll admit that although the extreme prevalence and availability of your animations didn't make things any easier, but I wasn't really well equipped to do these kind of animations in the first place. My most recent "interactive" submissions are mostly just a forwards/backwards code snippet I commissioned from geckoguy that I later bootstrapped into animations. I really didn't want to do "interactive" but that's really all that everyone wanted.
Also, I've seen you talk about Barn Flakes "taking your place" before, there's a good chance that when you decide to retire people will just keep frequenting your page and writing "please come back" messages, rather than looking for anyone new. Barn Flakes has a pretty good following, so I suppose he's far from obscure, though what happens if he decides to quit around the same time you do? what if he's nearly ready to quit already?
Anyway, I figured I'd say thanks for promoting my page way way back. I remember your journal entry years ago, and I appreciate the sentiment. I still plan on making three final animations, as well as an animated "farewell" message at the end of the last one, so there's still a few months of animating I have left to do (especially given real life interruptions).
Good Luck Doom.
---> Oh, also while I got you here. Can I ink/color this character: barn-flakes.deviantart.com/art⦠(since it's one of yours I should ask your permission).
I have Inked and colored 5 others already, so quality is assured. (Examples) barn-flakes.deviantart.com/artβ¦ barn-flakes.deviantart.com/artβ¦

Interactive animations require a lot of programming, so I understand that you would want to avoid making them. What people like about interactive animations is that it lets them actually be there with the character. I think that makes them enjoy it more. A similar effect occurs with the ever popular dating simulators. A further improvement could be to add stories to make them seem more real, but I just don't like to do that.
I may have mentioned Barn-flakes replacing me when I leave, but I am aware that his animations take him a lot of work. Because of this, I suspect one day he might stop animating, maybe even before I do. That would be sad, I hope it doesn't happen. I would like it if a few new people started making interactive animations.
You seem to take an unusually large amount of time to make your animations. I'm wondering if your method of creating them can be simplified. Several months is a long time to be working on an animation like that.
If you want to color the picture, you'll have to ask Barn-flakes about it. It's his picture and I actually can't tell anyone what they can or can't do with it.

Yeah, I think mostly the interactive side didn't interest me. Primarily I consider myself an animator and not a coder, so I preferred to stick to what I knew, instead of fumbling about with things that I didn't.
Well I suspect that if any new people start making animations they wont get any views/comments either. I think that in order for new artists to rise the time of the old artists will have to pass and likely there will be a time when there will be no primary artists around. Either that or an artist would have to arise that didn't care about views or comments at all, though if one wonders why they would post onto DA in the first place if they weren't interested in popularity.
I think mainly it's the fact that I'm not an artist myself, so I have to work with other people on DA and FA to create new characters and settings, that tends to delay things. Also my college schedule occasionally ramps up and leaves me with very little free time, in those cases I end up with very little free time after course work, and little energy left to put the time into animating.
Well, I've colored various pictures for him before (that's what the links were), he just likes it when I get the original artist's permission first so that they aren't upset when someone else Inks and colors their work. Basically after I get your consent, I ask Barn Flakes (his answer is usually yes), then after a time I ink/color it, then post it for his review.

Dear Doom,
Holy s***! This is honestly one of the best interactive expansions I have ever seen! I love how her belly moves around, it makes it very interactive. Also, the character is very cute! I would love to have her in my bed!
Sincerely, Bredion

Instead of writing a new comment each time I answer you, try using the reply button located in the bottom left corner of this box.
I am not very familiar with measuring systems apart from the metric one, so I don't know what answer you're looking for. If you search in Google you will find an answer somewhere.

Meters are a standard unit of length. 2.5 meters is taller than most people. I was told she's actually 2.66 meters, though. If you want to know how tall 2.66 meters is, you can use Google to convert that to whatever measurement units you like best.
