hey how do you use a base I could never figure out how to do it.

Depends what medium you use...if you use computer programs like paint or ArtWizard or GIMP then I think you download the base and save it to your computer...then use your program to modify it (colors, hair, etc.)Save the file when you're done with it and upload it to whatever site you want it on...
If you're like me and you use pencil and pen then what I do is trace the base using tracing paper, set the traced picture (with hair and clothes and stuff drawn in) on top of a clean piece of paper, go over the lines of the drawing with a mechanical pencil (you have to press hard enough to make an indentation of the line on the page) trace the indented lines with pencil, go over your traced lines with pen...erase the pencil marks...and color...
