My Spider-Sona. I haven't actually seen Across the Spider-Verse yet but I DID rewatch Into the Spider-Verse in preparation so the brainrot is real.

Current working backstory is that unemployed 21-year-old Jules Jennings was kidnapped by some mean people in labcoats and experimented on, which resulted in their powers. Using their newfound abilities they were able to rescue themselves (as well as any other would-be test subjects) from the facility.

However it's one thing to escape from somewhere in a rush of adrenaline, but it's a whole other thing entirely to actually commit to being a superhero. It probably took a while for Jules to actually become Spectra-Spider because, well, they were scared. Something big (unsure of what yet, probably some sort of Big Disaster Event that only a superhero could stop) probably pushed them into accepting their new powers and identity.
