Magnificent work. I really love how loss and sadness, but also serenity mixed in this painting. My favourite part however, is how the wolf (or fox?) is reflecting the background is if it woud vanish from life while its overall form still lingers in the embrace.

This is so touching...it could be the perfect summary of the relation between Life and Death, always entwined, yet always fading away the one in the presence of the other.
The girl, as Life, has a luminous yet subtly cold appearance in her snowy hair, and brings feelings of Love and Tragedy engraved in her Beautness. And her tender friend is still concrete in her arms as a Shadow of the Life he shared with her before, but he's already covered by a darker, deeper night, his spirit returning to the Universe...his fur spotted with snow looks like a darkened sky full of stars

Wow, this one is TRULY incredible, the anguish on her face is brilliantly expressed, you know what movie this reminds me of for some reason? "Wolf Children" the anime film about this woman who married a werewolf and he was killed and had to raise the two hybrid children on her own, a very good movie. somewhat different concept from this but still. another excellent pic mah friend
