"This is definitely a story involving peril. You're going to be in lots of really terrible peril, believe me."

"Are you going to tell me what to expect, then? So that I can, I don't know, prepare myself somehow?"

"I think you can wait to find out, they'll be here soon enough." I turned and started to walk away.

Her voice chased me along the beach, getting gradually fainter. "Who are they? What will they do?"
