Description
Introducing two designs I did... Yesterday! I'm actually quite proud of them if I do say so myself, well, mostly proud anyways. I really just wanted an excuse to do something different in the old cartoon style, with my own edgy twist.
I went too deep into this oh god
#1
_@#(^LLL
An energetic snail with a green thumb, she was meant to be a side character and occasional spotlight for outdoorsy episodes. She has a pure innocent personality, which harshly contrasts her "partner" (#2) and will generally find herself waltzing into dangerous situations unprepared- and probably oblivious. She has to stay hydrated a lot, too, or else she'll shrivel up and get sick.
She was approved to be a side character, and did appear once or twice in simple scenes that needed extra movement and characters in them, but only got one episode slightly dedicated to her.
Despite being an official side character, she didn't ever get a real name. One thing did begin to stick though, "Lovely Little Lucy", and the name Lucy just stuck.
She had 3 planned episodes, one that aired, one with a rough animatic, and one simply wrote out.
1- Aired- Bendy in: Garden Warning (or, Lovely Little Lucy, as fans called it)
Lucy helps Bendy grow his own garden, but they both find out that the demon just doesn't have the same green thumb she does. So instead, she gives him a low maintenance plant and Bendy's able to grow that relatively well.
2- Animatic- Lucy in: Soul Warden
Lucy runs into Damien trying to sell things in trade for souls, and she innocently turns him down, but he grabs her and traps her. She falls into a hole and finds Bendy there, having been caught, and they try to get out. Bendy's soul is almost reaped by Bendy, but Lucy scolds Damien. Damien shrugs, and then Lucy explains that she'll take Bendy's place. Damien obliges, and from then on in the lore of the universe Lucy is bound to Damien.
3- scripted - Damien and Lucy in: Contract Troubles
A lucy and Damien based episode, Damien tries to explain to Lucy through image based speech bubbles that he has her soul, but she blissfully walks on, checking flowers and such until they get to her house. Damien follows to try to drill it into her, but she either can't hear or shows no sign of it as she pours him a cup of tea and heads out to check on her garden. Damien follows, and, realizing he can't get it into her head, submits and enjoys the day.
#2
Damien
gentleman like and cunning, he often tries to make sweet sounding deals with people and ends up taking more than he gives. It's his job, after all. Damien is generally very quiet (not that the characters talk much in the shorts anyways), but does like to sing when he's alone.
His design is a mashup of a deer and a rabbit, and despite his black looking hair his colored design was meant to have blonde hair- it was kept dark to make it easier to understand.
Damien, unfortunately, was completely turned down. Understandably, because his design was just too complicated to animate continuously (not too over the top, but enough to be hard what with his rabbit ears flopping around and such)
Henry tried to dumb down his design and in the final version he ended up with no mouth- unable to sing. This is the version before that, though.
The deer rabbit hybrid is a business man who likes to sing. He also often wears his ears in front or behind him, depends. Underneath his hair is a rather peculiar eye. He likes to be fashionable as well!
Damien has four scripted episodes, and one with a rough animatic, but the time it took to roughly animate him is what caused Joey to decide it was just too much to do.
1- animatic - Bendy in: Devil's escapade
Damien's first appearance was the one with an animatic. It shows Bendy getting ready for Halloween but without a costume. He runs into Damien, who's running a stall and offers to sell Bendy a costume, but needs something in return for it. His soul. Bendy doesn't like this and leaves. Later on, he dressed up as a demon,,, obviously, and goes through a haunted attraction. Damien is there, and pretends(?) to be dracula, and targets Bendy the whole time for his soul, all the while sporting a vampiric persona for Halloween and whistling to the tune of the episode's music. Alice eventually interrupts and stops this futile effort, dressed as a goddess.
2- Script - Damien and Lucy in: Contract Troubles
A lucy and Damien based episode, Damien tries to explain to Lucy through image based speech bubbles that he has her soul, but she blissfully walks on, checking flowers and such until they get to her house. Damien follows to try to drill it into her, but she either can't hear or shows no sign of it as she pours him a cup of tea and heads out to check on her garden. Damien follows, and, realizing he can't get it into her head, submits and enjoys the day.
3- Script - Damien in: Monster Lullaby
Damien tries out a new cultish spell and summons a basilisk to terrorize the land. It wasn't his intention, but when it gets a hold of Lucy he has to do something to stop it. In the end, he lulls the monster to sleep with a song and reverses the spell. Lucy is completely pure and innocent and thanks him for saving her, then goes on her merry way- probably to go check the nearby plant life.
4- Script - Bendy in: [undecided]
The deer rabbit hybrid is walking on his own, whistling to himself, and it becomes a little louder. Bendy hears, and being the childish character he his teases Damien, but the creature takes it harshly (and not as a joke as intended) and runs off. Bendy tries to find a way to make amends, and eventually gets the help of Alice and Borris to sing a song nearby that he joins in. They come closer and he stops, knowing they've heard him, but then continues once he sees how happy they seem to be singing together.
Oh! If we're going off of inspirations around the studio (seeing as how the canon toons seem to have connections or inspirations to the workers there) then, well, I'm not sure about Lucy, and I know it's awfully OP, but I did technically base Damien off of Sammy, which is why he's a singer so... Whoops.
Is this too mary sue-ish? God I hope not.
